Biography
Cameron Cooper
Republican member of the Arkansas House of Representatives representing District 57, which encompasses portions of White, Lonoke, and Faulkner Counties.
Cameron Cooper is a seventh-generation Arkansan and lifelong resident of the Romance community in White County. He was born to Burl Cooper and the late Nita Cooper, growing up on a cattle ranch where he developed strong values of hard work and determination. Cooper is married to Melissa Cooper and father of two children, Caitlin and Carleigh.
Education
Cooper earned an Associate of Arts degree from Arkansas State University–Beebe, a Bachelor of Social Work from Harding University, and a Master of Science in Education from Harding University. He graduated from Rose Bud High School before pursuing higher education.
Political Experience
Cooper is serving his fourth term in the Arkansas House of Representatives, having first been elected in 2019. Prior to his state legislative service, he served as a White County Justice of the Peace for seven terms from 2005 to 2018, during which he was named chairman of the Public Safety Committee and the Budget Committee.
In the state legislature, Cooper serves on the House Agriculture, Forestry, and Economic Development Committee and the House Public Health, Welfare, and Labor Committee. He also serves on the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee and serves as Chair of the House Agriculture Small Business and Economic Development Subcommittee and Vice Chair of the City-County Legislative Audit Committee.
Occupation and Affiliations
Cooper works professionally as a Behavioral Health Consultant at Pathfinder, Inc., where he has worked for 24 years providing services for individuals with developmental disabilities. He also owns and operates two small businesses: Cooper Farm and Cooper Lawn Care.
Cooper is an active member of numerous organizations, including the 2nd Amendment Foundation, Gun Owners of America, the National Rifle Association, the National Wild Turkey Federation, the White County Farm Bureau, and the White County Cattleman's Association. He is affiliated with the Church of Christ.
His legislative work has earned recognition including three Family Council Statesman Awards, two Conduit for Commerce Calvin Coolidge Awards, and various awards from Opportunity Arkansas and Americans for Prosperity.
