Calvin Richard Schrage, born April 7, 1991, in Anchorage, Alaska, is a third-generation, lifelong Alaskan representing House District 12 in the Alaska House of Representatives as an Independent . A resident of the Abbott Loop-Lower Hillside area where he grew up, he lives in his childhood home with his wife, Heather, and their two daughters, Eleanor and Emmeline. He serves as the current House Minority Leader , having previously held the role from 2023-2024, and was first elected in 2020 to the 25th district before redistricting to the 12th. Notable achievements include his re-election in 2022, board service on the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce and Abbott Loop Community Council, and work as Executive Director of Frontier Tutoring. His priorities emphasize local needs like job creation, education, community health, and safety over party politics.
