Biography
Caleb Hinkle
Caleb Hinkle is a Republican member of the Montana House of Representatives representing House District 68. He is from Belgrade, Montana. Outside of his legislative work, Hinkle is employed at Kenyon Noble, a locally owned, family-operated hardware and lumber store.
As one of the youngest members of the House of Representatives, Hinkle has established himself as a vocal advocate for fiscal conservatism and regulatory reform. He is opposed to new taxes and has been particularly critical of the gas tax, which he believes hurts economic growth. Hinkle scored a 93 percent on the Americans for Prosperity-Montana scorecard, the highest rating of any statehouse lawmaker.
Political Experience
Hinkle has served multiple terms in the Montana House, with previous service in 2021 and 2023 before his current term. He serves on the Taxation and Human Services committees.
His legislative focus includes labor and housing policy reform. Hinkle is the prime sponsor of right-to-work legislation, an issue he became interested in after being required to pay union fees in a low-wage job where he felt the union's negotiations did not benefit him.
