Biography
Cal Warwas is a Republican member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 7B. Born on September 1, 1976, in Virginia, Minnesota, he is a lifelong Iron Range resident currently serving his first term, which began on January 14, 2025, and ends January 12, 2027. A third-generation miner and 27-year union steelworker at United States Steel in Mt. Iron, he has held roles including laborer, operator, millwright, ironworker, welder/fabricator, and now planner in central maintenance. He is married to Maria with 9 children and serves his second term as a supervisor on the Clinton Township board. Warwas is a passionate advocate for precious metals mining, having promoted it through groups like Fight for Mining Minnesota and Better In Our Back Yard. He previously served as a director on the Range Association of Municipalities and Schools board and represents the St. Louis County Association of Townships on the Arrowhead Regional Development Commission.

- Education: Associate degree from Mesabi Range Community and Technical College .
- Political Experience: Elected to Minnesota House District 7B in the November 5, 2024, general election, defeating Lorrie Janatopoulos. Serves on the Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee, Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee, and Taxes Committee. Prior local roles include Clinton Township Supervisor, RAMS board director, and active member of the St. Louis County Association of Townships and Minnesota Association of Townships.
