Kerry "Bubba" Underwood is a Republican member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing District 3 in northeast Colbert County and southern Lauderdale County. Elected on November 8, 2022, after defeating Democratic opponent Wesley Thompson with 63.1% of the vote, he assumed office on November 9, 2022. A native of northwest Alabama, Underwood previously served as mayor of Tuscumbia from 2016, winning uncontested reelection in 2020. As mayor, he focused on economic development by recruiting businesses, increasing city sales tax revenue without raising taxes.
