Biography
Bryce Edgmon is an Independent member of the Alaska House of Representatives, representing District 37, which encompasses parts of the Kodiak Island Borough, Aleutians East Borough, Lake and Peninsula Borough, Bristol Bay Borough, and Yukon–Koyukuk Census Area. A lifelong Alaskan resident of Dillingham, he has served continuously since 2007, including as Speaker of the House from 2017–2021 and again in the 34th Legislature . Edgmon is the first Alaska Native to hold the Speaker position and has been involved in key committees such as Health & Social Services, Commerce, Community & Economic Development, and House Finance. Notable achievements include sponsoring the Bristol Bay mining prohibition bill, securing funding for public education, rural school internet, VPSO programs, and Power Cost Equalization, and prior roles like chair of the City of Dillingham Planning Commission and Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission. He is married to Melody, with children Evan, Emma, and Magy Elliott.
