Bryan W. Smith is a Republican representing District 73 in the West Virginia House of Delegates. Born June 20, 1974, in Grafton, West Virginia, Smith has built a career centered on public service and community involvement. He works as an administrative assistant at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital and is a business owner. Smith is married and deeply rooted in his Taylor County community through extensive volunteer work spanning decades, including service with food pantries and nonprofit organizations.

Political Experience

Smith was elected to his first term in the House of Delegates in 2024, running unopposed in Taylor County. His legislative priorities include addressing drug addiction in the community and economic development. In the 2025 legislative session, he sponsored three bills: one addressing homelessness comprehensively, another relating to county parks and recreation commissions, and a third prohibiting violations of individual civil rights.

Beyond the legislature, Smith serves on the Taylor County Economic Development Authority and previously directed the Taylor County Project HOP2E Food Pantry from 2014 to 2019. He is active in numerous community organizations, including the Grafton Rotary Club, Grafton Lions Club, the Save The Tygart Watershed Board, and serves on the Tygart Lake State Park Foundation. He also holds memberships in civic and advocacy groups focused on community development and conservation.
