Biography

Bryan W. Shupe

Representative Bryan W. Shupe is a Republican serving Delaware House District 36 since 2018.

Bryan Shupe was born and raised in Milford, Delaware, where he has built a reputation as an experienced leader and entrepreneur. As a business owner, he founded Milford Live, the city's first community-focused internet media outlet, in 2010. He later expanded his media enterprise by starting Delaware LIVE News in 2020, which now serves as a statewide news network covering local news and live streams of high school sports. Shupe is currently the CEO of Delaware LIVE News Network.

In addition to his media ventures, Shupe co-owns FurBaby Boutique & Doggie Daycare with his wife, Sherry, in downtown Milford.

Before joining the House of Representatives, Shupe served his community as a Milford Councilman and as Mayor of Milford from 2014 to 2018, becoming the city's youngest mayor. During his four-year tenure as mayor, he was instrumental in several economic development initiatives, including the creation of the new Bayhealth Sussex Campus, the expansion of Nemours Pediatric Hospital to Sussex County, and the redevelopment of the former Milford Hospital property on Clark Avenue.

Shupe is actively involved in community service, serving on the Delaware Boys & Girls Club Board of Trustees, the Milton Theatre Board of Directors, and as a volunteer for the Milford School District and Downtown Milford Inc.

Education

Shupe graduated from Milford High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Delaware.

Political Experience

State Representative : Shupe has served in the Delaware House of Representatives representing District 36 since 2018, currently in his second term. At the state legislature, he has advocated for high school students' alternative career paths and increasing availability of skilled nurses and primary care physicians in Delaware. He has also championed reforms for clean water, vocational training, voting rights, government transparency, and budget stabilization efforts. Shupe serves on four House committees: Education, Health & Human Development, Economic Development/Banking/Insurance & Commerce, and Judiciary.

Other Positions: Shupe serves as Co-Chair of the Delaware FUTURE CAUCUS and has held appointments including membership on the Governor's Commission on Community and Volunteer Service and President of the Sussex County Association of Towns .
