Biography
Bryan Posthumus is a Republican representative for Michigan's 90th House District, which includes much of Northeast Kent County, encompassing townships such as Sparta, Alpine, Algoma, Courtland, Cannon, Grattan, Vergennes, and parts of Tyrone and Plainfield, as well as the City of Rockford. Elected in 2020 and serving his third term as of the 2025-2026 legislative session, he was selected by Republican lawmakers as Majority Floor Leader, acting as a primary strategist for the caucus. Born on October 26, 1984, in Grand Rapids, he is a fifth-generation farmer who built West Michigan Hopyards from a startup into the largest farmer-owned hop grower in Michigan over the past decade; he is also Managing Partner there since 2013 and CEO of Tuebor Strategies consulting firm since 2010. Notable achievements include defending parental choice in education and cutting red tape for farmers and job providers. He serves on the finance, insurance, and rules committees. Son of former Lt. Gov. Dick Posthumus and brother of former State Rep. Lisa Posthumus-Lyons, he resides in Rockford with his wife Elizabeth and their three children.
