Biography
Brigid Kelly was a Democratic politician from Ohio, born and raised in Norwood. She served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2017 to 2022, representing the 31st District . Later, she was elected Hamilton County Auditor in 2022, serving from March 2023 until stepping down shortly before her death due to a two-year battle with cancer. Notable achievements include serving as Minority Whip, sponsoring bills to increase the state minimum wage, exempt feminine hygiene products from sales tax, legalize and regulate sports gaming, and designate the sugar cookie as the state cookie, as well as advocating for paid sick leave, family leave, education funding, and worker protections. She was known for her Kelly green attire and family legacy in public service; posthumously, legislation was introduced to rename the Norwood Lateral in her honor.
