Biography
Bridget M. Plouffe is a Democratic representative for the 9th Plymouth District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, elected in 2024. A lifelong resident of Brockton in the district, she grew up with two brothers, attended Brockton Public Schools through middle school, and later Fontbonne Academy, where she was a starting varsity softball pitcher and active in the National Honor Society and service club. She lives in Brockton with her husband, a firefighter, two stepchildren, and two rescue dogs. As the granddaughter of a Korean War veteran and sister of a Marine pilot, she prioritizes veterans' issues and currently serves as Chief of Staff for the Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Providence College in 2015. During college, she served on the executive boards of Special Olympics and Relay for Life and tutored high school students.
- Political Experience: Worked for Brockton Public Schools after college, then joined Representative Gerard Cassidy's office in 2016 as a legislative aide, advancing to Chief of Staff. In the 2025-26 session, she serves on the House Committee on Human Resources and Employee Engagement, Joint Committee on Cannabis Policy, Joint Committee on Education, Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security, and Joint Committee on Revenue.
