Biography
Brian P. Stack is a Democratic State Senator representing New Jersey's 33rd Legislative District, which includes parts of Hudson County such as Union City and Jersey City. Born on May 16, 1966, he has served as Mayor of Union City since 2000, making him the longest-serving mayor in the city's history with over 25 years in office as of 2026. A former community activist and tenant advocate, Stack began his political career with a 1997 special election victory for Union City Commissioner and has since won landslide elections, including seven commissioner races, one term as Hudson County Freeholder , two terms in the New Jersey General Assembly , and six terms in the State Senate .
