Brian Rhodes is a Republican state senator representing District 36 in Mississippi. A lifelong resident of Rankin County born in Jackson, he is a third-generation poultry and cattle farmer who purchased his first poultry farm in 2007. He is married to Ashley Laird, with whom he owns ten poultry houses and a cow-calf operation of about 100 head of commercial beef cattle; they have three children and are members of The Church at Shiloh.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: High School Diploma from East Rankin Academy; Bachelor's degree in History from Mississippi College . His wife Ashley also graduated from East Rankin Academy and Mississippi State University.
• Professional Experience: US Army Platoon Leader ; various management roles including Assistant Manager at Dixie Cafe , Assistant Manager and General Manager at Backyard Burger , Assistant Shift Leader at Mississippi State Hospital , and Technical Support at Common Cents Solutions ; ongoing cattle farming.
• Political Roles: Serves on multiple Mississippi Senate committees, including Agriculture, County Affairs, Drug Policy, Finance, Forestry , Highways and Transportation, Insurance, Labor, and Technology. Member of Mississippi Farm Bureau, Mississippi Cattlemen's Association, Mississippi Poultry Association, and Mississippi Land, Water, and Timber Resources Board. Fiscally and socially conservative, strong Second Amendment supporter.
