Biography

Brian Minier is a Democratic representative for Chittenden-11 in the Vermont House of Representatives, serving South Burlington. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he married Kat Scollins in 2001 in her parents' backyard in South Burlington. His wife teaches Russian at the University of Vermont's German and Russian Department, where Minier previously served as department secretary after their children were in daycare. He transitioned into community involvement by coaching soccer, joining the South Burlington school board, and then entering state politics, aiming to improve his community.
