Biography
Brian D. Miller is a Republican Assembly Member representing New York's 122nd District, which includes parts of Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, and Otsego counties. A native of Utica, New York, and a mechanical engineer with over 30 years of experience, he was first elected to the New York State Assembly in 2016 to succeed Claudia Tenney following her election to Congress. Notable achievements include advocating for tax relief, ethics reform, infrastructure investments, and full school funding; he serves as Ranking Minority Member on the Real Property Taxation Committee and Vice-Chair of the Steering Committee, while sitting on committees for Agriculture, Consumer Affairs and Protection, Higher Education, and Transportation.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduate of Mohawk Valley Community College.
- Political Experience: Elected to the Oneida County Legislature in 1999, where he served 16 years as a member of the 16th District, including as Chairman of the Public Works Committee, Assistant Majority Leader, and member of the Ways and Means Committee and Region 6 Fish and Wildlife Management Board. Served eight years as Bridgewater Town Supervisor. Previously represented the 101st Assembly District before the 122nd. Sworn into the Assembly in 2017 after winning the Republican primary and general election in 2016.
