Biography
Brian Lohse
Brian K. Lohse was born on November 27, 1968, and is an American attorney and politician from Bondurant, Iowa. He is a member of the Republican Party and currently serves as a State Representative in the Iowa House of Representatives representing District 45.
In September 2012, Lohse and his wife Mary won an Iowa Powerball lottery jackpot of $202 million, which was the state's second-largest Powerball jackpot at the time. The couple used their winnings to establish the Lohse Family Foundation, fund the construction of a high school football stadium, and open a grocery store in their hometown of Bondurant.
Political Experience
Lohse began his public service career on the Bondurant City Council, where he served for eight years and held the position of mayor pro tem. He also owns a restaurant business, a fitness facility, and rental properties.
He was elected to the Iowa House of Representatives in 2018, succeeding Zach Nunn in District 30 after defeating Lori Slings in the general election. In 2022, he ran unopposed for District 45, and in 2024, he won a second term in that district, defeating Anthony W. Thompson.

Lohse currently serves as the Chair of the Justice System Appropriations Subcommittee. He also holds memberships on the Agriculture Committee and Appropriations Committee. His professional background as an attorney informs his legislative work in these areas.
