Biography
Brian Lawson is a Republican representative for District 30 in the South Carolina House of Representatives, covering Cherokee and Spartanburg Counties. Born on April 5, 1973, in Spartanburg, he is an American businessman serving as controller of Shiflett Holdings, Inc., and assumed office on December 6, 2022, succeeding Steve Moss. He is married to Karen Hames since September 18, 2004, with two children, Kalyn and Brayden, and has been involved in community service, including past roles as president of the S.C. Ambulance Providers Association , board member of the S.C. EMS Association , and board of directors for Cherokee County First Steps . In 2023, he briefly co-sponsored the South Carolina Prenatal Equal Protection Act before withdrawing sponsorship.
