Biography
Brian BeGole is a Republican state representative serving Michigan's 71st House District, which spans parts of Shiawassee, Saginaw, and Genesee Counties, including areas like Owosso, Perry, Corunna, Durand, Chesaning, and various townships. Born in 1970 in Michigan, he resides in Perry with his wife Tammy and has nine children. A Catholic with a family background in public service—his father was a judge, his brother a U.S. Customs agent, and his uncle a police chief—BeGole has emphasized protecting constitutional rights, lowering taxes, supporting small businesses, and funding schools and roads. Notable achievements include his 32-year law enforcement career, serving as Shiawassee County Sheriff , chairing the Law Enforcement Officers Regional Training Commission, and holding executive board roles with the Michigan Sheriffs Association and Shiawassee Valley Fraternal Order of Police. Elected to the House in 2022 and reelected in 2024, he currently chairs the House Government Operations Committee, vice-chairs the House Judiciary Committee, and serves on the House Economic Competitiveness and House Energy Committees. He previously served as Assistant Majority Floor Leader.
