Biography

Brian M. Ashe, a Democrat, represents the 2nd Hampden District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, which includes all of Hampden and Longmeadow, and parts of East Longmeadow, Monson, and Springfield. Born on April 23, 1963, he has served in this role since 2009, becoming the first Democrat to represent the district in 36 years after defeating Republican incumbent Mary Rogeness in 2008. Notable positions include Vice Chair of the House Committee on Bills in the Third Reading, and membership on the House Committee on Steering, Policy and Scheduling, Joint Committee on Community Development and Small Businesses, and Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development.
