Brandon Newton is a Republican representative for District 45 in the South Carolina House, covering Kershaw and Lancaster Counties. Elected in 2016 at age 22, he became the youngest member of the South Carolina General Assembly and continues to hold that distinction in his fourth term as of 2024. He is married to Allison, a nurse practitioner, and they have a son named Wales; they reside in Lancaster. Newton focuses on education, healthcare, and economic development, and serves as Co-Chair of the South Carolina Future Caucus. He is also active in the Republican Party and community boards, including the Lancaster County Historical Commission and The Children’s Advocacy Council Board.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Earned degrees in business and history from USC Lancaster , and an MBA from Winthrop University. Served as student body president during his time there.
• Political Experience: First elected to the South Carolina House in 2016 . Successfully won re-election in the 2024 Republican Primary and General Election for District 45, receiving 12,284 votes in the general. Notable for his early entry into politics and ongoing leadership roles.
