Biography
Brandon Markosek is a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 25th Legislative District in Allegheny County, which includes Monroeville, Pitcairn, North Versailles, Wilmerding, East McKeesport, Turtle Creek, Wall, and parts of Plum and Trafford. Elected in November 2018, he succeeded his father, Joseph Markosek, and assumed office on December 1, 2018. His legislative priorities include funding for senior programs, addressing the opioid epidemic, public safety, education funding, and economic development for job creation. He maintains an active role in community organizations such as Visit Monroeville, Monroeville Chamber of Commerce, and Friends of Monroeville Library, and is a member of St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degrees in Political Science and History from Duquesne University; Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh; additional courses through Stanford University’s online program.
- Political Experience: Prior to election, served as Community Outreach Representative for State Senator Jim Brewster, working directly with residents on community needs. Has held positions at the State Capitol in Harrisburg and in government-related roles in private and non-profit health care sectors.
