Brandon Beach

Brandon Lamont Beach was born on May 2, 1961, and is an American Republican politician. He currently serves as the 46th Treasurer of the United States, a position he assumed in 2025 following his appointment by President Donald J. Trump. Beach is the first Georgian in U.S. history to serve as Treasurer of the United States.

As Treasurer, Beach oversees the U.S. Mint and Fort Knox, serves as a key liaison to the Federal Reserve, and advises the Treasury Secretary on issues impacting community development and economic infrastructure.

Political Experience

Beach served as a member of the Georgia State Senate from 2013 to 2025, representing the 21st district, which includes portions of Cherokee and Fulton counties. He was elected to the state senate in 2012 and served 13 years before his resignation in May 2025 to assume his position as U.S. Treasurer.

During his tenure in the Georgia State Senate, Beach held several notable positions:

  • Chairman of the Senate Committee on Transportation
  • Chairman of the Senate Committee on Economic Development and Tourism
  • Member of the Senate Committee on Government Oversight and the Senate Committee on Science and Technology

Beach was also a member of the Georgia Freedom Caucus. In 2019, he ran for the Republican nomination to challenge U.S. Representative Lucy McBath in Georgia's 6th Congressional District but withdrew from the race in November 2019 to seek reelection to his state senate seat instead. He ran unopposed in 2020.
