Biography

Brad Roae

Bradley T. Roae is a Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, born April 6, 1967, in Meadville, Pennsylvania. He has represented the 6th legislative district since 2007, serving parts of Crawford and Erie Counties in northwestern Pennsylvania.

Roae was first elected in 2006 following the Pennsylvania General Assembly pay raise controversy. He successfully challenged 15-year incumbent Teresa Forcier by campaigning on a promise to leave office after two terms, then defeated Democrat Keith Abbott in the general election.

Education

Roae graduated from Maplewood High School in 1985 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Gannon University in 1990.

Political Experience

Prior to his legislative career, Roae worked as a commercial underwriter with Erie Insurance from August 1992 to November 2006, earning numerous professional accreditations and teaching as an instructor at the insurance institute.

In the Pennsylvania House, Roae serves as Republican chairman of the House State Government Committee. He previously served as chairman of both the House Commerce Committee and the House Consumer Affairs Committee. In 2019, he was appointed to the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Board of Governors.

Upon taking his seat in the legislature, Roae was appointed to the newly formed Speaker's Commission on Legislative Reform. He maintains district offices in Meadville and Linesville to assist constituents with legislative matters and services such as Property Tax and Rent Rebate applications.
