Biography
Brad Paquette is a Republican member of the Michigan House of Representatives, currently representing Michigan's 37th District in southwest Michigan, which includes parts of Berrien and Cass Counties such as the townships of Galien, Weesaw, Baroda, Royalton, Sodus, Oronoko, Buchanan, Bertrand, Niles, Berrien, and Pipestone; the cities of Niles and Buchanan; and Cass County townships of Silver Creek, Pokagon, Howard, Milton, and Wayne, as well as the city of Dowagiac. Born on May 24, 1987, in Marquette, Michigan, he resides in Niles and has served since 2019, initially in the 78th District before redistricting; he was reelected in 2022 and 2024, sworn in for his current term on January 2, 2025. Notable achievements include serving as Associate Speaker Pro Tempore, Vice Chair of the Oversight Public Health and Food Security Subcommittee, and leadership in education reform as a teacher; he has sponsored legislation like removing concealed pistol license renewal fees, co-sponsored the "fetal heartbeat protection act" , and criticized Governor Gretchen Whitmer's COVID-19 policies.
