Biography
Representative Brad Mattox
Brad Mattox is a Republican member of the Mississippi House of Representatives, representing District 2 since January 2, 2024. Born on October 28, 1970, in Booneville, Mississippi, Mattox is a business owner and farmer who resides in Corinth, Mississippi. He is married to Terrina Jennette Mattox.
Before his election to the legislature, Mattox was known as a gun shop owner. He won his seat in a closely contested race against incumbent Nick Bain, securing victory by a narrow margin of 26 votes in the 2023 Republican primary runoff.
Education
Mattox attended Northeast Mississippi Community College and Mississippi State University.
Political Experience
Mattox assumed office in the Mississippi House of Representatives on January 2, 2024, succeeding Nick Bain. As a state representative, he has participated in votes on various legislative priorities, including school choice, income tax elimination, DEI policy, and healthcare regulation matters.
