Biography
Brad Little is a Republican serving as the 33rd Governor of Idaho since January 7, 2019, after being elected in 2018 and reelected in 2022. Born on February 15, 1954, in Emmett, Idaho, he is a third-generation rancher raised on his family's sheep and cattle operation. He is married to Teresa Soulen since 1978, with two sons and six grandchildren. A lifelong conservative, his governorship emphasizes red tape reduction, tax relief, economic growth, and investments in education and infrastructure.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Earned a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness from the University of Idaho in 1977.
- Early Career: Worked in ranching , banking, and manufacturing; held leadership roles including chair of the Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry, Idaho Wool Growers Association, and boards for the University of Idaho Foundation and Idaho Community Foundation.
- Political Experience: Appointed to Idaho State Senate in 2001 , elected to four terms, and served as Majority Caucus Chair. Appointed Lieutenant Governor in 2009 by Gov. Butch Otter, elected in 2010 and 2014. Elected Governor in 2018, marking the seventh consecutive Republican gubernatorial win in Idaho.
