Biography

Brad Hoylman-Sigal is a Democrat/Working Families member representing New York's 47th State Senate District on Manhattan's West Side. Born in Phoenix, Arizona, and raised in rural West Virginia, he is a lifelong public servant, community advocate, and openly gay politician who lives in Greenwich Village with his husband David and their two daughters. Notable achievements include passing over 400 bills in the State Senate, championing tenant protections, LGBTQ+ rights , the Child Victims Act, gun safety, abortion access, rent reform, consumer protections, and environmental measures. He previously served as Manhattan's 29th Borough President and ran for U.S. House in 2022.
