Brad Finstad represents Minnesota's 1st Congressional District, which spans southern Minnesota from the South Dakota border to the Wisconsin border, including all or part of 21 counties such as Blue Earth, Brown, Dodge, Faribault, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, Jackson, Martin, Mower, Nicollet, Nobles, Olmsted, Rice, Rock, Steele, Wabasha, Waseca, Watonwan, and Winona. Born on May 30, 1976, he was elected in a 2022 special election to complete the term of the late Jim Hagedorn and sworn in on August 12, 2022; he is currently serving his second term. Notable achievements include prior service as assistant minority leader in the Minnesota House and committee roles on the U.S. House Agriculture and Armed Services Committees, focusing on key district industries like agriculture, health care, and manufacturing.

Education and Political Experience

  • Finstad graduated from college before entering professional roles in agriculture and policy.
