Biography
Brad Buckley is a Republican State Representative serving Texas House District 54, which covers part of Bell County including Fort Cavazos in Central Texas. Currently in his fourth term, first elected in 2018, he chairs the House Public Education Committee and the House Select Committee on Educational Opportunity and Enrichment, and serves on the House Land and Resource Management Committee. A veterinarian born and raised in Killeen, Texas, he graduated from Ellison High School in 1985, opened his veterinary practice in Killeen in 1993, and has held community roles including Killeen ISD school board member, past chair of the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce, and former co-chair of 14Forward economic development initiative. He lives on a ranch in Salado with his wife, Dr. Susan Buckley , and their family.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in veterinary science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine , both from Texas A&M University.
- Professional Experience: Partner in Killeen Veterinary Clinic, Town and Country Veterinary Medical Center, and Stagecoach Pet Hospital since 1993.
- Political Experience: Elected to Texas House District 54 in 2018; fourth term as of current records; key leadership in education policy affecting Texas schools and 5.5 million students.
