Representative Boomer Wright is a Republican serving Oregon House District 9, which spans from the north end of Yachats to the south end of Coos Bay along the Oregon Coast, with offices in Coos Bay and Florence.

Born the only child of Hollie and Loretta Wright, he moved from California to Lorane, Oregon at age 10. He met his first wife Andrea in college; she passed away in 1991. They had two children, Kelli and Byron.

Education and Political Experience

• Graduated from Crow High School.
• Earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Oregon College of Education in 1972.
• Completed a Master's Degree in Education and Administrator Certification from the University of Oregon in 1982.

His career includes teaching at Siuslaw Elementary starting in 1972, followed by administrative roles: Vice Principal at Siuslaw Middle School , Principal at Rhododendron Elementary , Principal at Siuslaw Middle School , Principal at Siuslaw Primary , and Superintendent of Mapleton School District . After retiring from education in 2002, he worked as a liaison for Selco Credit Union in Florence for 3 years, then as General Manager of Sea Lion Caves for 5 years. He now substitute teaches in District 9 high schools.
