Bonnie Watson Coleman was elected to the U.S. House to represent the 12th Congressional district of New Jersey in 2014. She took office in January 2015. She was a member of the General Assembly, representing the 15th legislative district from 1998-2014. She served as Majority Leader from 2006-2010. Watson Coleman introduced the Zero Tolerance for Domestic Abusers Act. The bill would prohibit those convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence offenses and subjects of restraining orders from buying or possessing guns. She is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.read less
