Biography
Bonnie Cullison is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 19 in Montgomery County since 2011. A former teacher and labor official, she has focused on health care access, education equity, public information reforms, and progressive policies, including same-sex marriage rights and gun control legislation.
Education and Political Experience
- Education and Early Career: Teacher and member of the National Education Association since 1978; founding member of the Equity in Education Coalition ; chief of the Montgomery County teachers' union .
- Political Roles: Sworn into the House on January 12, 2011; member of the Health and Government Operations Committee since 2011 ; deputy majority whip ; deputy speaker pro tempore .
