Biography
Bobby Wayne McCool is a Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives representing District 97, which includes Johnson, Martin, and Pike counties. Born on May 7, 1959, in Van Lear, Kentucky, he is a retired teacher, Free Will Baptist, married to Debbie with two children, and a veteran of the USMC and Kentucky Air National Guard. He has served in the House since January 2019 and was unopposed in the 2024 Republican primary and general election.

- Education: BS in Education from Eastern Kentucky University; MA in Education from Morehead State University; PhD/ABD in Leadership from University of Kentucky; Certification in Research from Florida State University.
- Political Experience: Elected to Kentucky House District 97 in 2019; current roles include Member of Appropriations and Revenue Committee, Chair of Budget Review Subcommittee on Postsecondary Education, Member of Education Committee, and various joint committees on appropriations, education, transportation, and veterans' affairs.
