Biography
Bobby J. Cox is a Republican who represented South Carolina House District 21 from 2019 to 2026. A retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve and former Army Ranger, he served as Vice Chair of the House Medical, Military, Public and Municipal Affairs Committee and Chairman of the Military and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee. Elected in 2018, he led the 25-member freshman caucus in 2019-2020 and focused on military and veterans' issues. In August 2025, he resigned his seat effective January 2026 to run for South Carolina Senate District 12 but suspended his campaign on August 29, 2025, due to business obligations as Vice President of Government Affairs for SIG SAUER, Inc. He is married to Joscelyn since 2004 and has two children, Reagan and Seth.
