Biography
Robert W. Singer is a Republican politician representing New Jersey's 30th Legislative District in the State Senate since 1993. The district includes parts of Ocean and Monmouth Counties. He is in his thirty-second year in the legislature, serving as Deputy Republican Leader , senior ranking member of the Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee, and a member of committees including Higher Education, Legislative Oversight, and Commerce. Notable positions include past roles as Republican Conference Leader , Co-Republican Majority Leader , and Assistant Majority Leader . He served 30 years on the Lakewood Township Committee, retiring in 2010, and was Mayor of Lakewood in 2009. Additional service includes U.S. Coast Guard Reserves , New Jersey-Israel Commission, New Jersey Commission on Aging, and sponsorship of economic development bills for biotechnology and Urban Enterprise Zones.
