Biography
Robert D. Phillips is a Democratic member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives, representing District 51 since January 2011. He serves as Deputy Majority Leader and is First Vice Chair of the House Environment and Natural Resources Committee, with additional roles on the House Corporations, Education, Rules, and Small Business Committees. Notable achievements include co-chairing the 2021-2022 Special Commission on Reapportionment, introducing a 2017 education reform law for virtual school days during inclement weather, and cosponsoring laws on medical marijuana safety, employee wage protection, arts support, price gouging prevention, parole reforms, and regulatory updates.
