Biography

Robert W. Nutting is a Republican state representative for House District 66 in Maine, covering the towns of Mercer, Oakland, Sidney , Smithfield, and Starks in Somerset County. A retired pharmacist from Oakland, he owns a residence there and serves his tenth non-consecutive term in the Maine House of Representatives, with prior service in sessions 131 and 132 . Notable achievements include election as House Speaker in 2010—the first Republican in that role since 1974—and current role as Ranking Member of the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee. He is also a member of the Oakland Town Council and Lions Club, and has advocated on issues like offshore wind leases.
