Biography
Representative Bob Morris
Robert "Bob" Morris is a Republican representing Indiana House District 84, which includes Fort Wayne and most of St. Joe Township in Allen County. He was born in Streator, Illinois, and moved to Fort Wayne in 1976. Morris is married to Erin and has seven children. He is a Catholic and a small business owner who founded and operates Healthkick Nutrition Centers.
Before his election to the state legislature, Morris served as an officer in the New Haven Police Department from 2005 to 2006 and served as president of the Georgetown Merchant Association.
Education
Morris attended Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic School and graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University Bloomington.
Political Experience
Morris was elected to the Indiana House of Representatives in November 2010 and has served continuously since assuming office on November 3, 2010. He currently holds significant leadership positions in the chamber:
- Chair of the House Committee on Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development
- Member of the House Committee on Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications
- Member of the House Committee on Employment, Labor and Pensions
His legislative focus reflects his background in business and economic development within Northeast Indiana.
