Biography
Bob Heaton is a Republican member of the Indiana House of Representatives representing District 46, which includes all of Owen County and portions of Clay, Monroe, and Vigo counties, spanning from south of Terre Haute to the west side of Bloomington. Born on September 28, 1956, in Clay City, Indiana, he is a 68-year-old politician and former basketball player who assumed office on November 3, 2010, and has won re-election seven times, most recently defeating Democrat Kurtis Cummings by a 36% margin. Notable achievements include co-authoring Indiana House Bill 1041, which banned transgender girls from competing in K-12 women's sports; the bill passed despite a veto by Governor Eric Holcomb.
