Biography
Senator Bob Hall
Robert Lee Hall III was born on March 5, 1942, in Tampa, Florida, and currently resides in Edgewood, Texas. He is a Republican member of the Texas State Senate representing District 2. Aligned with the Tea Party movement, Hall is a retired United States Air Force Captain and business owner. He is married to Kay Hall and is the father of four sons.
Hall is known for his conservative principles and has earned a reputation for being open-minded while remaining unwavering in his core conservative values. He advocates for pro-life, pro-gun, and pro-liberty positions, and is a staunch supporter of free market principles and limited government.
Education
Hall graduated from The Citadel Military College in Charleston, South Carolina, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. During his time as a cadet, he received numerous leadership awards and was the only Air Force cadet selected to serve as a Battalion Commander. He was awarded the Wade Hampton saber as the graduating cadet who contributed most to the institution and was listed in "Who's Who In American Colleges" during his senior year.
Political Experience
Hall was first elected to the Texas State Senate in 2014, defeating incumbent Republican Bob Deuell by three hundred votes in the Republican runoff election. He won his second state Senate term in 2018 with 59.4 percent of the vote.
Currently serving in the 89th Legislature, Hall holds the position of Chairman of the Senate Committee on Administration. He is also an influential voting member on the Senate Committees on Finance, Health and Human Services, State Affairs, and Veteran Affairs. Hall was instrumental in making Texas a Second Amendment Sanctuary State and protecting religious organizations and churches from government shutdown.
