Biography
Bob Good is a Republican who represented Virginia's 5th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2021 until his defeat in the 2024 election. Born on September 11, 1965, in Pennsylvania, he graduated from Liberty Christian Academy in Lynchburg, Virginia, in 1983. He served as Chairman of the House Freedom Caucus starting in January 2024, widely regarded as the most conservative and influential Republican caucus in the House. Notable achievements include four years on the House Budget Committee and the Education & Workforce Committee, where he chaired the Health, Employment, Labor & Pensions Subcommittee for two years. Prior to Congress, he served one term on the Campbell County Board of Supervisors from 2015 to 2019. Good is active in Baptist churches, including roles as deacon and adult Sunday school teacher at multiple congregations, and he lives in Prince Edward County with his wife Tracey , three adult children, and two grandchildren.
