Biography
Bob Freeman is a Democratic member of the Tennessee House of Representatives, representing the 56th District in Davidson County, which includes parts of Nashville. Born on July 3, 1975, he is the oldest of three children to Bill Freeman, a real estate executive, Tennessee Democratic donor, and co-founder of Freeman Webb Co. Freeman entered politics after the incumbent Republican Beth Harwell vacated the seat to run for governor in 2018; he won with 51.4% of the vote, flipping the district to Democratic control as one of two such flips that year. Notable positions include board member of the TN Environmental Council, Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, and U.S. Green Building Council's Market Leadership Advisory Board; member of the Nashville Homeless Commission; and former board member of the Tennessee Wildlife Federation. He serves as President of Freeman Webb and is Presbyterian.
