Bo Mitchell

Bo Mitchell grew up in Dickson County, Tennessee, as the son of a drywall finisher who was the sole income provider for a family of five. At age ten, his father suffered a massive heart attack requiring triple bypass surgery, which left him unable to work. This formative experience resulted in the family losing both their income and health insurance, an event that shaped Mitchell's lifelong commitment to advocating for affordable healthcare and economic security.
Mitchell and his wife Chastity reside in Bellevue with their two sons, Parker and Brady.
Education
Mitchell graduated from David Lipscomb University in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in political science. He earned his law degree from Nashville School of Law in 2003.
Political Experience
Mitchell has built a career in public service spanning multiple roles across middle Tennessee. His experience includes serving as Chief of Staff to State Senator Pete Springer, Government and Military Affairs Director of the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce, and Director of Community Affairs under Governor Bredesen. He has also served on the Nashville Metro Council and currently holds his position as a State Representative.
As a legislator, Mitchell is known as a fierce defender of good jobs, strong public schools, and affordable health insurance for everyone.
