Biography

Senator Billy Hickman is a Republican representing Georgia Senate District 4, which includes Bulloch, Candler, Effingham, and Evans counties, as well as a portion of Chatham County. A native of Statesboro, he was elected in a special election and sworn into the Georgia Senate on August 20, 2020. He is a certified public accountant specializing in financial forensics and a partner at Dabbs, Hickman, Hill, and Cannon, LLP. Hickman has held leadership roles such as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Georgia Southern University Foundation, Inc., and President of the Statesboro-Bulloch County Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves on the boards of East Georgia Regional Medical Center and Georgia Southern University Athletic Foundation, Inc. Married to Jo Ann for over 45 years, they have two sons and five grandsons and are active members of First Baptist Church of Statesboro.
