Bill Pizzuto is a Republican state representative serving Connecticut's 71st House District, which includes Middlebury and part of Waterbury. Elected in a February 2022 special election following Anthony D'Amelio's resignation, he focuses on reducing taxes, combating crime, and improving affordability for residents and businesses.

Education and Political Experience

Pizzuto retired after over 20 years as Campus Director for UConn Waterbury, overseeing significant educational and downtown revitalization efforts. A longtime Waterbury resident now living in Middlebury, he served as a Waterbury alderman and chaired the Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce. He volunteered with local boards for Naugatuck Valley Community College and the Palace Theater.

Currently, he serves on the Aging, Children’s, and Human Services Committees. Previously, he was on the Banking, General Law, and Housing Committees.
