Biography

William M. "Bill" Chumley is a Republican member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 35 since 2011. A native of Reidville, he is a farmer, small business owner, South Carolina Nurseryman, and holder of six U.S. patents and two trademarks. Married to Faye Wood since 1967, they have two sons and four grandchildren. Notable achievements include high ratings from conservative groups like the National Rifle Association and the South Carolina Club for Growth, membership in the South Carolina Freedom Caucus, and service on the House Agriculture, Natural Resources & Environmental Affairs Committee. He sponsored the South Carolina Prenatal Equal Protection Act of 2023 and is known for defending gun rights and conservative values.
