William J. Carson Jr.
William J. Carson Jr. was born on December 24, 1950, in Dover, Delaware. He is a lifelong resident of Smyrna and has been deeply involved in his community through various civic and service organizations. Carson is a veteran of the Delaware Air National Guard and holds the title of Honorary Commander of the Dover Air Force Base. He is an active member of multiple veterans organizations, including the American Legion Post No. 14 and the Delaware Veterans Coalition.
Beyond his military service, Carson has been instrumental in local community development. He is a life member and past president of the Smyrna Fire Company, where he also served on the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees. He is a charter member of the Smyrna-Clayton Moose Lodge and a life member emeritus of the Smyrna-Clayton Little League, where he coached for 22 years.

Carson graduated from Smyrna High School and attended Brandywine College.
Political Experience
Party and District: Carson is a Democratic member of the Delaware House of Representatives, representing District 28, which includes portions of Smyrna, Leipsic, Little Creek, and Dover.
Legislative Service: He was first elected to the House in 2007 and assumed office on December 8, 2008, replacing Democrat Bruce Ennis who resigned to run for the Delaware Senate. In 2018, Carson won reelection with 5,176 votes against Republican nominee Charlotte Middleton.
