Biography
Bidal Duran is a Republican representative for Minnesota House District 2A, which includes parts of Beltrami County, Clearwater County, and Lake of the Woods County. A combat Marine Corps veteran and former law enforcement officer from Bemidji, he was elected in 2024, defeating DFL candidate Reed Olson, and is currently serving his first term while seeking re-election. He serves as Assistant Republican Leader and holds committee roles including Co-Vice Chair of Judiciary Finance and Civil Law, and memberships on Public Safety Finance and Policy, Veterans and Military Affairs Division, and Higher Education Finance and Policy. Married to Rebecca for over 16 years with three daughters, Duran emphasizes accessibility and constituent service.
