Beverly Chester-Burton is a Democratic member of the Kentucky House of Representatives, representing District 44 since January 1, 2023. Born October 3, 1961 , to parents Cozy and Linnes Chester Sr., she is a teacher in Jefferson County Public Schools and previously served as the first African-American mayor of Shively, Kentucky, elected in 2018 with 97.8% of the vote after 10 years on the city council. Notable achievements include her historic mayoral win and roles as director of the Jefferson County Teachers Association.
