Betsy Holland is a Democratic member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 54 in Fulton County, which includes portions of Buckhead and south Sandy Springs. Born on January 10, 1976, she was first elected in 2018 after winning a three-way Democratic primary and defeating Republican incumbent Beth Beskin in the general election; she is now serving her fourth term. Notable achievements include chairing the House Atlanta Delegation, where she helped defeat Buckhead City annexation legislation in 2022-2023 and advanced partnerships on affordable housing, public safety, and homelessness. She has advocated for protecting vulnerable Georgians, women's bodily autonomy, healthcare access, gun violence reduction, and public school funding. Education and Political Experience

Holland grew up in Marietta, Georgia, attending public schools with a focus on arts programs like drama and music, fostering her lifelong advocacy for the arts. She earned degrees in Government and Women’s Studies from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts.

Before entering politics, she spent over 25 years in the corporate sector at Turner Broadcasting and WarnerMedia, rising to Vice President for Corporate Social Responsibility, overseeing philanthropy, nonprofit partnerships, employee engagement, and disaster relief. She developed programs like Turner Volunteer Day and led philanthropic strategies for youth leadership and arts.

Her civic involvement includes board service with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce , Atlanta Community ToolBank, Fugees Family , and Communities in Schools. An active member of Morningside Presbyterian Church, she has served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and leader of a women’s social justice group. She resides in Buckhead with her husband Jason , son Alex, and rescue dog Bader.
